One of our tv journalists (now dead), a very competent and well-liked
person, once reported from an accident:

12 people were killed, 6 of them seriously.

Many years ago I saw a news report of an airplane accident. The small
plane (a Cessna, I think) ran out of fuel and crashed just short of the
runway it was attempting to land on

The reporter said that it was a good thing there was no fuel on board,
so there was no fire.
