With the reelection of pro-parental rights and pro-charter members of the
Orange County Board of Education, the voters of Orange County have
established their desire to halt the significant mission drift of
education and schools. Voters made clear they want schools to get back to
the core aims of education to inculcate facts and knowledge and critical
thinking abilities.

Jorge Valdes, Tim Shaw, and myself won this election based on these
certain principles that Republicans and Democrats want for their children:
parental school choice, the rights of parents to direct the upbringing of
their children, and protecting the innocence of their children.

More importantly in future school board elections, a message is delivered
to woke Sacramento legislators, bureaucrats, and local school board
members that are financially supported by the California Teachers
Association. That message is that families and communities are fed up with
the broken education system that Sacramento and the CTA created.

In the years since our nation was paralyzed by the COVID pandemic, voters
understand that we stand at a divided moment. The concept of local control
in education has been traditionally recognized and revered by both
Democrats and Republicans alike. The concept of local control is grounded
in the philosophy of our Founding Fathers, who recognized that citizens
and institutions that are closest to their communities are the best
stewards of their communities.

Voters know that our students have been academically indoctrinated by
culture wars that promoted unproven pedagogies like Marxist layered social
justice programs and Critical Race Theory, DEI programs, pronoun
campaigns, school closures and mask mandates. As a result of this mission
drift, we have witnessed worsening test scores and the removal of
parental rights to direct the upbringing of their children.

The principles that led to the OCBE parental rights and pro-education
choice victories is a road map for future control of local education.

What parents want are leaders committed to exercising local control to:

1) Defend the innocence of children

2) Restore the rights of parents to be informed about their children, and
to allow them to guard and direct the upbringing of their children

3) Replace the current trends of political indoctrination, pronoun
advocacy, critical race and gender theories with the life-long proven
�back-to-basics� education- phenomics instruction, reading, writing, math,
and literacy skills

4) Swap age and content inappropriate state approved textbooks, and
university-based pedagogies that undermine the innocence of children,
with literary classics and curricula that bring us back-to-basics
instruction, restores family relationships and rebuilds a broken culture.
5) Promote true �local control� of education by rejecting radical woke
Sacramento ill-defined mandates, laws and legislation that removes
curriculum decisions by locally elected school boards.

6) Call out the tyranny of legislators, and power hungry and media-craving
state constitutional officers such as Tony Thurman, Attorney General
Bonta, and Governor Newsom

7) Replace the broken education system caused by the CTA and deliver
parental choice in education by approving more public charter schools.

The people of Orange County want an educated citizenry that our founding
fathers promoted and have allowed our country to endure and flourish since
our inception. Education is the foundation to advance our citizens�
knowledge of and fitness for self-governance through elected leadership.
But great changes have occurred to undermine public education by certain
elements in our country, primarily the CTA and self-appointed educational
elitists.
