Wow! Thank you for that. I clearly recall finding out that there was a Laurel & Hardy group, as well as a magic group that had just been started. Big news at that time. I joined both immediately and looked to see what else was out there, saw this, and I became another human joining the mystical world of the Internet. There became no need for the other two within a year or so, but alt. obits marches on! Congrats to us all. -MJ

Hey AF, you speak of a jumpin' alt-obits...

....And thanks for reminding me of Jumpin' Jiminy, the short-lived early '60s elastic-surface-at-ground-level trampoline franchise. There were at least two locations in the suburban St. Louis area, and though my nuclear family of four wasn't typically up for bold activities, my folks fell anyway for my and my older brother's TV-spot-induced coaxing. Could easily (and uber foolishly) have been seriously injured during that kinetic hour or so, and within months, after a stream of civil-law threats, Jumpin' Jiminey was kaput.

You lament, the end of the jumpin' alt-obits era, AF, and I suppose I do too...and of course wonder if my unpopular posts (quite inadvertently) drove some good folks away.
