Fascinating man. He ran his family business -- department stores and
grocery stores -- till the family sold in 1979. I remember those grocery
stores. They had a distinctive massive arch and glass windows in front.

In the mid '80s, he bought the Milwaukee Bucks for $18 million to keep
them from leaving town. He sold the team in 2014 but spent $100 million
on a replacement arena that would open in 2018, again to ensure that the
Bucks wouldn't leave town.

He was chairman of the state Democratic Party in the '70s. then ran for
US Senate when William Proxmire said he wouldn't run again in 1988. He
was elected to four terms. He didn't run in 2012.

He was 88.

Not to be confused with Herb Kohler, another wealthy Wisconsinite,
who died last year.

So far,the state has not admitted to having a Herb Kohlest hiding
anywhere.

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
