Do you have a food processor? This recipe makes excellent dough
and is very easy. But it requires advance preparation.

https://www.seriouseats.com/new-york-style-pizza

You can freeze the excess, but I find the dough is more difficult
to work after defrosting. Then again, I don't make yeast dough
often enough to get really good at working with it.

My husband requested a "I survived heart surgery (again)" pizza
this week, so I think I'll be making this on Friday.

Everybody has different taste. Roast pork doesn't need a sauce
because I don't cook it past medium (although sometimes I'll use
the pan drippings). I like prunes straight up, uncooked.
Duck, usually done in some Asian fashion (by a restaurant cook,
not me). I usually grill chicken.

I don't eat classic European food very often. I just never
developed much of a taste for it.

Pork: marinated with soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and maybe gochujang,
then grilled

Chicken: grilled then dressed with a bright sauce like chermoula

If he survived heart surgery he deserves wings. I had a consultation
with a dietitian after my heart surgery. She told me not to ever eat
Buffalo wings. She explained why they are so bad for you. The fat in
chickens is under the skin and there is a lot of skin for the small
amount of meat. Then it is deep fried in fat which has likely been
heated and cooled repeatedly so likely to have some transfats. Then
there is the sauce, which is high in fat and salt. If that was not bad
enough, there is the high fat and high salt blue cheese dressing and the
beer.

To never eat wings translated in my head as eating them only once a
year. I did that for a couple years but then one time we were at a
place and the wings sucked. They were such a disappointment that I
figured they just weren't worth it.

Wings were always my favorite until some jackass in Buffalo screwed up
the market. Many years ago, you could buy a 5 pound bag of them for 5
cents a pound. I once went into a KFC and they had a special of a dozen
wings for dirt cheap.

Suddenly, Buffalo Wings became a craze and the sell for premium prices.
I like them, but I'm not paying close to $3 when thighs sell for 79 cents.

It wasn't open-heart surgery. Catheter ablation. It would have
been a surprise to everyone if he hadn't survived it. The early
mortality rate for that surgery is 0.46%, with 50% of deaths
occurring within the first 30 days.

He's in the kitchen right now, making a sausage omelet for breakfast.

Pizza might be about as far as his GERD will allow. Wings would
have him up all night.

If we had one nearby, we'd go to Hooters. Their burgers are fair.
But the real draw is me watching him watch the waitresses.

A friend of mine introduced them to Canada back in the 1970s. Liquor
laws were easing up and he opened up the first NY style standup bar. I
made a number of trips with him over to Buffalo and Niagara Falls NY to
try winds and to try to get recipes. They were an instant hit and
everyone else started selling them.

I had a deep fryer and for years we had wings almost every Saturday.
The price climbed steadily and it got to the point where I could get a
decent steak for the same price as a serving of wings. It just wasn't
worth it.

Oh, do you mean the low - cost German airline...???

"A male flight attendant approached my sleeping wife, woke her up and reprimanded her saying "Fuesse vom Sitz! Sie sind hier nicht zuhause" and then proceeded to repeat the insult in English "Put the feet down! You are not at home here!..."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condor_(airline)

"Condor Flugdienst GmbH, usually shortended to Condor, is a German leisure airline established in 1955 with Frankfurt Airport being its main base. Condor offers scheduled flights to leisure destinations and operates, from Germany, medium-haul flights to the Mediterranean Basin and the Canary Islands as well as long-haul flights to destinations in Africa, Asia, North America, South America and the Caribbean..."

CUSTOMER REVIEWS:

“portions of food were terrible”

D Fefko (Czech Republic) 5th February 2024

"Our flight from Frankfurt to Prague was canceled by Condor for no reason. We were in time at the gate and we were unable to board second plane. In the cabin we had to pay for wine, headphones etc... The portions of the food in comparison to other airlines were terrible. I was hungry. Seats were uncomfortable. Again in comparison to other airlines. The planes was not cleaned... I am not choosing this airlines ever again.

"Terrible experience"

Krisztina Balazs (Canada) 20th October 2023

Terrible experience. Hours of delay. Overbooked flight, they offered upgrade for cash only. Made me downgrade from business to economy because of my pet on board, then offered an upgrade for cash only. regardless. The flight was delayed by hours because of luggage issues, etc which was because of overbooked economy. No blankets, no refreshments, no water, you have to pay for everything and the check in staff is beyond rude.

"staff were professional, passionate, enthusiastic"

Joseph Robert Goodrich (United States) 16th October 2023

Great airline. The staff were professional, passionate, enthusiastic. They thoroughly love their jobs, and it showed. Seat comfort was good. Amenities were thoughtful and of good quality. Cuisine was remarkably decent. Aircraft was new, clean, and comfortable. What an amazing surprise. This airline really hits it out of the ballpark.

"All in all disappointing"

Christian Brincken (Germany) 5th October 2023

Disappointing experience. Brand new plane, flight a bit behind schedule. Seats are very narrow and hard, Condor optimised every inch of the airplane. Food very small and not very tasty, Service okay but not very friendly, bathrooms ridiculously narrow and small. Entertainment so and so. All in all disappointing.

"attendants treat guests like cattle"

1 reviews Danyel Tiefenbacher (United States) 13th August 2023

I traveled with my 7-months pregnant wife and my two young children. After 9 hours my youngest finally fell asleep and laid his head down in my wife's lap. He was careful not to put the bottom of the shoes on the seat, only the sides. A male flight attendant approached my sleeping wife, woke her up and reprimanded her saying "Fuesse vom Sitz! Sie sind hier nicht zuhause" and then proceeded to repeat the insult in English "Put the feet down! You are not at home here!" We paid $7,000 for our flights, about the same as for 10 nights in all 5-star hotels in Frankfurt and 3 other cities in Europe on our trip. It would have never occurred any of the hotel staff to treat us this rude. Condor flight attendants treat guests like cattle. Never ever will I fly Condor again.

No, the bird! Much more meat on the wings than regular chickens! ;)

I feel your pain! A brief "Jawohl Herr Kommendant" as an answer comes to
mind. ;)

No, I hate modern travel in planes with a passion! I have travel many
times around the globe for business and my dreams is to never have to
travel by plane again. Sadly my wife loves travelling, so once every 2
years she forces me into the small metal tube for hours and hours of
suffering.

The last few years I tried to parry it with flying business so that I
can at least sleep horizontally but not even that suffices to make the
experience pleasant. =(

Maybe I should try a private jet? Perhaps that is the answer?

If I lived in japan, the answer would be trains. Since I live in
northern europe they are just as bad as flying (except the dehumanizing
and revolting security procedures at the airport).

Best regards,
Daniel

Snicker, my youth comes back to haunt me on this one. I tried making
it and still didn't like it much as the old familiar and reliable can.
