Beer's also expensive. The only alcohol that's affordable is
Australian wine, so what can I do? :)

Australian wine is not overly expensive here in spite of the freight cost.
19 Crimes is about $10 and decent, Yellow Tail about $8 but I don't care
for that stuff. Penfold is more than I'm willing to pay.

If you cannot drink a whole 355 ml can right away, usually
you can find it in the 222 ml mini format.

Sometimes there is a tiny 'metal' taste if you drink from
the can, but that seems to fade if it's poured into a glass.

BTW, Soft drinks in Quebec have a $.1 deposit, but the machines at
the store that give you it back just read the UPC, not the markings
to indicate deposit was paid. So if you come here for a visit, fill
your car with empty cans & bottles and you can earn a few coins.
Speaking of which, I notice Charles III is onto them now.

Yellow Tail Chardy was already around when we were still in the
Netherlands (< 2006). It was sometimes the house wine in non expensive
restaurants. It was nothing special. I liked 19 Crimes Chardy the one
or two times that I had it. Penfolds comes in a wide range:

Sobriety.

For the most part. IIRC I had a couple fingers of Bailey's in January,
but that will probably be it for the year.
