Russia has warned on Friday that they will use “absolutely any weapon” to
stop Ukraine from re-capturing Ukraine.

Interfax news agency said the former Russian President warned there will
be a severe military response against Kyiv as the Kremlin are fearing that
sophisticated Western weaponry will be used to take Crimea back into
Ukrainian territory.

In an interview with Russian journalists, Medvedev said, “As far as some
serious offensives involving an attempt to retake Crimea are concerned, it
is absolutely clear that this will serve as a basis for the use of all
means of protection, including those provided for by the basic doctrine of
nuclear deterrence, when the use of any types of weapons against Russia
poses a threat to the existence of the state as such.”

He added that “an attempt to split off part of the state would be
tantamount to an encroachment on the existence of the state itself.”

He then gave a chilling warning, “Therefore, draw your own conclusions:
there are obvious grounds for using any weapons. Absolutely any.

“I hope our ‘friends’ across the ocean realise this.”

In 1954 the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev transferred Crimea to Ukraine
and in 2014 Russia illegally annexed the peninsula.

Vladimir Putin has vowed that Moscow will use everything at their disposal
to protect ethnic Russians in the peninsula from “far-right extremists.”

Dmitry Medvedev warned the West with a “nuclear apocalypse” if they
continue to provide Kyiv with more weapons on Thursday.

Medvedev warned that the Kremlin’s Western counterparts have not
previously seen the full “degree of Moscow’s determination.”
