I John it seems that the problem is not the "A1" switch but an integrated component, could you tell me on which board the A1 switch is connected?

Hi!

I don't have a Stargate in the shop so I can't trace the wiring. Looking
at my manual I can't find where the Motor Interface Board (A28 - see
page 56) is connected to anything in the cabinet! I assume this is for
the motor for the Pyramid...

At this point I would ask you to trace the control lines from A28-P1
back to the control boards to figure out what the control logic is. If
you can find the wire colours and where they go that will help!

Looks like Gottlieb simply forgot to document that in the Instruction
Manual...and rummaging through my 1995 Service Bulletins doesn't give
any help other than the following 2 notes for Stargate:
