The spam originates at Google Groups and Google does nothing
to filter it. The only way to avoid it is to use a real Usenet
newsreader and Usenet provider that filters spam.

Some free providers are news.eternal-september.org and
news.i2pn2.org. Both carry soc.genealogy.medieval.
