We're using DCMTK to transfer MRI scan data from the GE controller PC to one of our servers for permanent storage. Our script seems to be running fine as long as we use DCMTK version 3.6.0, but when we try newer versions of the software (recently tried 3.6.4 and 3.6.7), the transfer becomes very slow.

I'm very familiar with the host OS (Linux), but not very familiar with DCMTK. Does anybody have any idea what may have changed that would cause slow performance?

Thank you!

Hi,

We have had the very same issue with MR and CT images.
You can either (1) rebuild dcmtk with DISABLE_NAGLE_ALGORITHM flag enabled, or (2) set the environment variable TCP_NODELAY=1 and run the script again.

More information can be found in dcmtk's envvars.txt under "TCP_NODELAY" section:
https://support.dcmtk.org/docs/file_envvars.html

Thanks,
Ben

Thanks, Ben! I'll definitely test that this week.
