100k minimum. The guy did not count i2pd, go, Arch. Tails
and another 4-5 other router types that I know of. There
are quite a few download sites for the router which in my
opinion geti2p.net is the most dangerous (use github if you
do not know others). I've been on this network on and off
since inception and I studied the original math models.
What is alarming is that traffic is low compared to what it
used to be. This is in part to piratebay, openload,
kimdotcom etc in a word competition. To make matter worst
there is Vuvuzuela, Telegram and at least 50 other encrypted
networks that do a lot of what i2p does and faster.

Remember this is an OVERLAY network to pass keys and small
info not browse the web or watch movies.

thanks for the info.

what do you mean by that ? tainted downloads ?

>What is alarming is that traffic is low compared to what

that is indeed bad for i2p.

in principle, i believe that heterogenity is a good thing
when it comes to software. of course the anonymity of the
single user would be better if everybody was in one network
only.
bridging different networks (like retroguy does for example)
might be a good start.

A tainted download is a download that verifies the sha-sums
and signatures but introduces some other malware usually
through your browser (the website owner in most cases does
not know about it). I had this problem with
bobthebuilder.i2p and geti2p.net (until 3 month ago when
downloading through Tor). Use a download manager when
possible.

https://repology.org/metapackage/i2pd/versions

There are also other distributions and spins based on Java,
Haskwell, GO etc... There are also processor based ones...
I2P is a huge beast but it is not as widely used as 5-6
years ago. BigliBT is another torrent client made bu former
contributors.

Fedora that claims no maintainers has 2 in Copr Repositories
Vorona and Supervillain.

You can measure the number of routers by mathematical
models or downloads. 100k is a conservative estimate.
Hope this issue is put to rest. There are a lot of
applications that are not public knowledge also.

spill your guts, my friend, i'm all ears :-)

is it possible to taint a download on i2p ? i thought that
problem was exclusive for tor ?
