Thanks for the explanation.

Both sites are useful. Looks like YaCy may have improved (legwork.i2p)

(I'm the operator of ransack.i2p)

ransack.i2p itself doesn't index I2P eepsites. It's done by another
eepsite, legwork.i2p. ransack.i2p just queries it.

I restricted the number of the search result from legwork.i2p to 5
(because legwork.i2p responses sometimes slow), but now I set it to 60.
So e.g. "!legwork YourQuery" will give you 60 results now. For unlimited
number of results, please use legwork.i2p directly.

Anywise, thank you for using!--

I can't provide a howtow, but I ran a YaCy search engine in i2p and tor in
the past, and basically piped everything through a proxy.

privoxy allows you to route your requests to different proxies based on
domain name, so .i2p to i2prouter, .onion to tor etc. It worked fine, but
I was not impressed with YaCy so much as even though it said "YaCy never
removes a link from it's database it either does, or makes it impossible
to find in the future.

I never was able to get consistency in results. I made a nice interface
with search suggestions, even phonetic modifications, but finally I got so
frustrated with YaCy I shut the whole thing down.

Maybe it's just me, or maybe (hopefully) YaCy has improved since then :)

The site is not continuously up but somebody did a good
proxy job via i2p Tor. For the Java i2p with Orchid working
it is a very good outproxy also through Tor-Searx.me. If
you have not used Searx.me before familiarize yourself with
it and its proxy and cache options over Tor or clearnet.

Longer story:
Lets say that you want to familiarize with the original i2p
math models (which are not original to i2p but ...). I have
no idea what they are using now that sucks so bad!
1. Synchronization of chaos
2. Master stability function
3 Random Walk fractal (this is used by Twitter for
followers)

You open searx.i2p and search wikipedia synchronization of
chaos.
1 With i2pd you do not have an onion proxy (out of the box)
so clicking on the proxy in Searx will not direct you to
wikipedia through Onion. You have to copy the proxy link
and open in your Tor enabled browser.
2 With i2p Java and Orchid working (hit or miss) you can
just click on the proxy link.

Of course i2pd has other ways of implementing onion router
but not out of the box.
