Does rsl process all nocem articles in a group or only new ones?

nocem messages are saved to another directory when pulled in by spoolnews.
They are then processed on the next run of cron.php.

If you have nocem messages that you want to processes that have not already
been processed, try saving a copy of them to:
<spooldir>/nocem

They should be processed on the next run of cron.php.

How many does it pull?
I would like to pull the entire group for the first run to make sure I
canceled all of the already known spam.

If you're pulling from i2pn2, news.lists.filters expires much sooner than
other groups. It's cnfs, but a much smaller file so it overwrites more
quickly (there is no specific number of days).

You can specify how many articles to go back on first load of a group in
/etc/rslight/overrides.inc.php You want 'maxfirstrequest':

<?php
return [
// expire.php
'max_articles_per_group' => 10000,

// spoolnews.php
'maxarticles_per_run' => 100,
'maxfirstrequest' => 1000,

// Disable spoolnews if less than this num in Gb free for spool
'min_spool_disk_space' => 5,

// If your remote_server is already filtered, enable this
'disable_spamassassin_spooling' => true,

// Display short view of headers (only subject, name, date)
'short_headers' => true,

// Log posts?
'enable_post_log' => false,

// Disable immediate post insertion (wait for remote server)
// for a SECTION. Comma separated list
'insert_disable' => grc',

// Just leave this here to avoid comma errors
'comma' => true
];

Also, you can restart an existing group by (assuming default dirs):

cd /var/www/html/spoolnews
php /etc/rslight/scripts/maintenance -reset group.name

This will remove the group's articles and overview info for group. The next
run of spoolnews will see this as a newly added group.
