I see that five teams go to the playoff stage, so apart from Valour and
Vancouver everyone else is jostling not to be the odd one out.

What do you make of this league so far? It's on its fifth edition, right?
How do its participants stack up against the Canadian MLS sides (or those in
NASL as well)?

It is a national league, not an Alberta Provincial one !

I do hope it eventually expands to bring in a few more teams -- possibly
Saskatoon, London Ontario, Quebec City, Okanagan area, maybe
Kitchener-Waterloo. And a second try for Edmonton would be nice -
though the first incarnation was inept.
