I know it won't happen but Haas adds nothing to the grid. They are never
gonna be decent and they don't go about discovering new talent like
Jordan, Minardi, and Sauber did back in the day. The only thing they add I
guess, is the presence of Guenther on Drive to Survive for the people that
watch it.

I'm kind of surprised Haas hasn't been sold. But that goes for most of the permanent also rans.

Gene Haas main purpose in F1 is to sell his CNC equipment around the world.

I think you'd set a terrible precedent that other teams would take very
badly.

He's widened his sphere of influence in recent years. The highest-
budget combat robotics competition in the world, /Battlebots/, must
have received some Haas sponsorship last year, as not only were there
frequent quick references to the teams' access to a CNC machine
thoughout the series, they even dedicated a small segment to the
"Haaspital", as they call it, during one of the programs.

I think he, or something with his name on it, even sponsors a few of the
individual teams.

However, all of that is dirt cheap compared to running an F1 team, I'm
not sure that's sustainable.
