The New York Mets committed to paying nearly half a billion dollars in
player contracts this offseason in their pursuit of a World Series
title. It’s not paying off.

For the first time since 2012, the Mets have dropped five series in a
row. The Cincinnati Reds erupted Thursday for four first-inning runs
against Kodai Senga and beat visiting New York, 5-0, taking two of three
in the series. Spencer Steer added an insurance solo shot in the fifth
inning.

When the team was winning last year they were grinding out at bats,
walking ton and fielding stellar defense. All three phases of that
game is in regression. they have preached to Nimo and Canha that they
were too passive their OBPs are now way down and they are seeing far
fewer pitches.

The Guiliomie - Lindor DP infeild was magic. Louis seems tohave gained
waited and has lost more than a step on the infield.

They can't afford to be hitless wonders at third and catcher and need to
play the rookies every day. Putting Escobar at 2nd base is flatly
stupid. He is a regular ML hitter anymore.

And then there is the pitching... which I have no solution for...
