Yeah, it goes without saying that this first off season will be a stiff test for Stearns, but I think he's up to it. Bringing him in is the best thing Cohen has done so far. He won't be perfect, but on balance, he'll start making the Mets better, step by step.

For all the accolades he receives for the players he's able to acquire,
he hasn't produced a post-season winner yet. If its true the story
circulating that he forced Showalter to use Vogelbach, he deserves to be
canned. If its true the story that he used the IL to hide healthy
players, he deserves to be canned. I want to win, but not by cheating.
