My guess is that Alonso, Nimmo, and McNeil are all gone before Spring
training.

Marte is also gone but it won't matter any.

Pete would bring nothing as a rental...doesn't matter anyway as he's not getting moved. They'll try to extend this offseason. If it doesn't work, like if he wants more than 7 years or something, move him at the deadline. Nimmo is our long term CF...he's not going anywhere. He was a 4 WAR this year for less than $20M...who's gonna replace that?

McNeil had an off year (for him) and still was just about league avg. His OPS+ since 2018 are 138, 143, 130, 87, 140 and 96. He plays multiple positions adequately. He will be here opening day.

Marte...love the guy's style, but if someone offers a couple of lottery tickets, go ahead and move him.

Except if they're in contention next year.....I doubt that deadline trade would go over too good :-)
Not that trading Pete would go over too good at any other time either.

There's so many ways he can fit in, both batting order wise and defensively.. He did have a mediocre year at the plate, but he hit well towards the end, hopefully a good sign for next season.

I loved how Marte played in 2022, and his late season injury was a significant reason for the team fading at the end. If he could stay healthy he could probably still be productive, but that's getting a lot more questionable now in his mid 30's.
