It looks like Michael Conforto is healthy again and in early samples is
putting up seemingly normal numbers for him, hitting 300 with 3 Hrs so
far this season. We will see him next week.

He'll be a free agent after this season (unless the Giants decide to
extend him before that), so the Mets may get another shot at him. I
wouldn't mind seeing that, especially if has a reasonably healthy season
with Conforto-like numbers this year.

Bader is only signed for this year and doesn't have a good track record
as a hitter. Marte has just one more year left, and is 35 and injury
prone. So they're going to need outfielders. They'll probably be taking
a good look at Drew Gilbert sometime this season too.

I have a lot more confidence in David Stearns than in the previous
couple of decision makers they've had - especially Billy Eppler. None of
them are perfect though. Running a baseball organization is an imperfect
science.
