I was looking in Wikipedia for Tom Fool, 1953 American Horse of the Year,
and sire of Buckpasser and Tim Tam. His sire was Menow, and there was a link
to the Reading Eagle in the References at bottom of the Menow entry.
It's in news.google.com/newspapers, in an article from Sept. 19, 1937, about
the Champagne Stakes at Belmont Park. Menow, at 12-1, won the race, after the
favorite, Sky Larking, broke his leg and had to be euthanized. Then I clicked
on "Browse all newspapers" at top left, to find a large number of newspapers
that can be searched, including the Reading Eagle.
