With the proliferation of trolls and spam on Google, I use my Forte
Agent instead. I only get the messages from legitimate posters. Why
didn't I do this 22 years ago?

I've got Agent,too but couldn't set up the filters to weed out all
the dross that clogged up my TV NG. How did you do it?

I still use a mouse. Highlight the message from message list, right
click, filters, new kill...

Read this today if you prefer the Google newsreader. It tells you how
to report the spam en mass and hiding from view.

doing it that takes a few seconds.

When you first get the group list on your screen, click on the little
circles to the left of
the posts you don't want to read. The circles will turn into squares
with check-marks
in them. When you're done, go the upper right of your screen where
there are several --
three, I think -- options. Hover your mouse over them and text will
appear that tells you
their functions. Then click on the one whose function is to mark posts
as read. All the
posts you check-marked will then be marked as read. It takes me 30
seconds or less per
session of aue-reading.

i simply check to see if anything new if not i just mark "all read" ...spammimg here is rediculous anyway....it would be like opening a newspaper in a ghost town!

I'm with you there. What are there, 3 or 4 of us who post
semi-regularly? It seems to me Google wants to rid itself of Groups
altogether. Notice every time they 'upgrade' Groups, they make it a
little worse.
