maybe a big part of the rush to get out is that the underwhelming deal with Apple is good only for this week.

Arizona and Arizona State will finally rejoin Texas Tech, who were all in the Border Conference together, until Texas Tech bailed and joined the SWC.

(Actually despite being in the same conference, Arizona State and Texas Tech never played each other in football as conference mates. Apparently, train trips from Lubbock to Tempe were not workable, although train trips from Lubbock to Tucson were, so Texas Tech and Arizona did play each other annually).

Saw that and had a WTH moment. A massive deal committing you to a multi year grant of rights and you have less than a week to analyze it. Sounds more like a high pressure sales tactic than a serious business deal.

Assuming Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah all leave...no, you are not the first to name the remaining teams the Six-Pac Conference; there was a time when Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, Stanford, and Cal were in their own baseball conference.

How soon before the CFP announces, "Sorry, but you need at least (choose: 8, 10, 12) teams in your football conference to be eligible for an AQ in the CFP"?
Then again, it shouldn't be that hard to raid some of the independents...oh, wait, that means Army at Cal, doesn't it? I can see a group of students in cadet grays entering the visiting team's section in Berkeley. This would not end well.

Just make sure the Cadets are armed for their own protection.
