One, it IS all about the quarterback. Everything eminates from the quarterback in the American ethos.

Two, as a result: If all it's going to cost you is 15 yards, an ejection, and a game or two or three, why wouldn't somebody decide deliberate injury to one of these million-dollar quarterbacks (which would end that team's season) is the way to go?

Buenos Suerte, college football.

> Because that's not all what it would cost. Anything that bad would be too obvious, and the QB and his family would sue the player(s), the coach(es) that ordered it, and the school for God's own amount of money - and that's assuming they stop short of demanding an assault charge and the resulting prison time.

If you really wanted to go there, explain to me why Michigan State didn't sue Ohio State for being denied the Rose Bowl that one year.

Or any number of teams suing Michigan after the Big Ten findings...

If you must, add "write a settlement check" to the list. No, I do not believe that such a situation WOULD actually stop anyone, especially with the criminality of more than a few of the players and the incentives outweighing the penalties. It would take a major assault charge to do so -- and given some of the fights on the field in recent years, that should happen.

And if you don't think some dark NIL-ish group wouldn't cover such a payment, you're being silly.

Mike
