Disqualify Michigan for the Big Ten's findings, and it's a pretty simple four:

Washington
Texas
Alabama
Georgia

I don't think Georgia has a case but I do agree that FSU looks pretty bad, even if they do win this game. Smart is saying "best four teams". Ok. Washington, Oregon and two others.

Washington, Texas, Alabama, and either Michigan if you don't DQ them or Georgia if you do.

God, why is it so difficult for the Committee to have some balls and institute the penalty to throw Michigan off the field when it is goddamn obvious this championship is coming back?

Because this is what is probably going to fuck Georgia, probably even Ohio State.

Georgia, Ohio State and Oregon lost when it counted. They don't belong in
any discussion of best. Agree Michigan should pay the price and forfeit
every game up to the point they fired the spy.

Which would DQ them here.

And make things more than a bit simpler.

According to ESPN FPI, the 4 best are Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, and Oregon.
According to Dolphin Predictive, the 4 best are Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State.
According to Sagarin Predictor, the 4 best are Michigan, Oregon, Ohio State, and Penn State.

Of course the fact that all 3 of those have Oregon in their top 4 and don't have Washington shows the exact folly of "4 best". Why was Oregon a 9.5 point favorite over Washington? Because based on comparative scores and how they did in their other games, Oregon seemed to be a better team than Washington. Even if UW and UO were to line up again tomorrow on a neutral field, Oregon would probably be the favorite again, although not by as much as 9.5 But nobody is going to suggest that Oregon should be in the playoffs over Washington.

Because unless you can prove that Michigan "cheated" in either the Big Ten championship game, the Rose Bowl, or the CFP championship game, the NCAA is not going to vacate any of those, and and even if there is a provision for the CFP committee to revoke its championship, I don't think it will either.. (I don't think the BCS could, either, but there wasn't really such a thing as "the BCS Championship"; the AFCA, which conducts the coaches' poll (and had to name the BCS championship game winner as its national champion), did take back USC's championship.)

They cheated to get there. And that's over and above the other suspension for Harbaugh.

That's a question with a simple answer. They cheated in the game because they had no sportsmanship right to be in the game, under the findings of the Big Ten Conference.

> the Rose Bowl, or the CFP championship game, the NCAA is not going to vacate any of those, and and even if there is a provision for the CFP committee to revoke its championship, I don't think it will either. (I don't think the BCS could, either, but there wasn't really such a thing as "the BCS Championship"; the AFCA, which conducts the coaches' poll (and had to name the BCS championship game winner as its national champion), did take back USC's championship.)

Then there needs to be one. This is even more fucked than the year they knew that Ohio State basically got ineligible to get to the Sugar Bowl, screwing Michigan State (3-way tie sent Wisconsin to the Rose when Michigan State beat Wisconsin). And that's an easy solution: Wisconsin goes to the Sugar, Michigan State to the Rose, and you help out as much of the travel plans as you can.
