My Garmin has a similar feature I’ve disabled it as well MTBing and false
positives!

I don't use that feature, either, but my phone sends my location to my
wife, and if I'm not moving along regularly, she calls and checks on
me. My rest stops are generally pretty short, and I can answer her
calls by simply pressing a button on my headset, so that works for us.
Yes, she's a worrier, and I'm creeping up on eighty yeras old, ten
years older than her.

I have a similar worrier wife, I have offered to show live track but it
worries her!

But the Garmin displays notifications so I can stop to reply or ignore
which occasionally is useful mainly that I don’t need to stop if someone
rings unless it’s someone I want to answer or I guess should answer!

My phone doesn't answer callers who are not on my contact list, so I'm
seldom bothered with calls, on a ride or otherwise. People can leave a
voice message if they really need to get through. I can't talk on thr
phone when I'm riding. My headset's microphone picks up windnoise.
