I thought Leica & Hasselblad were better camera , but I'm guessing better photographers know what equipment is best for them for
the particular job they have to do.

Hasselblad don't make 35mm cameras. Leica make luxury cameras. If you
like them and don't mind the price then get one. Nikon, Canon, Sony and
Pentax have far more functionality and can be used for types of
photography that are not possible with a Leica.

Yep that was my point, photographers are more likely to chose canon while camera owners it would be Hasselblad or Leica.
Generally speaking I'd say canon have the wider range of lenes that a person might want to rent for the odd occasion.
Pentax doesn't seem to have much to offer.

I bought my Hasselblad to take photos. And did quite a bit with two
ordinary and one extraordinary lenses. What killed that is digital.
Get very high quality at FF on 35mm @ 24Mpix so the additional hassle of
film on the 'blad wasn't worth it anymore - esp. as getting reversal
film developed became quite the trek.

During Covid the price of 'blad bodies and lenses shot up and I got
better than I thought I would. Also sold my Nikon 9000ED scanner for
more than I paid for it new.

Leica = Louis Vuitton of cameras.

Perhaps today. But in the WW-II .. early digital era it was a bread and
butter camera for many reporters/journalists (esp. the combat variety)
as well as frequent travelers who took their photography seriously.

Compact, quiet, reliable, great lenses.
