Physicists are on the track of deriving
GR from QP. Key concepts include the
holographic principle and -- of course -- magic.

The Origin Of Space-Time? Maybe It's Quantum "Magic"

Space-time might not be as fundamental as thought, according to a new theory.
Dr. Alfredo Carpineti

....
All the world's a stage and the stage itself is space-time where all the
laws of physics are merely players. But maybe space-time is not the
fundamental aspect that it is believed to be. A team of researchers from
Japan's RIKEN suggests that space-time could emerge from quantum properties,
and one in particular that is involved in it is called quantum magic.

That is not something out of a Marvel movie despite sounding like it. It is
actually a mathematical measure of how difficult is to simulate a quantum
state on a regular (read that as non-quantum) computer. It turns out that
apart from the simplest quantum states, anything with a bit of chaos will
end up being maximally magical, which is a wonderful mathematical euphemism
for we can't model them.

How does that relate to space-time? Well, there is a quantum theory that
needed an extra ingredient and that particular flavor might be quantum magic.
The theory is called bulk quantum gravity and it was proposed in the 1990s
to try to reconcile gravitational and quantum theories. A requirement is
that space-time is something that emerges from the theory, not something
that is assumed a priori.

I had a LOL moment reading the article.
And what it outlines is only the log of what is probably comping.
The really far-out applications -- given reality is supposedly a form of quantum computer -- include limited form of time travel and what would look to many like magic. Pulling a rabbit out of a hat. Or as we say in the relevant area of physics -- probability amplification. Look up the Santa Clause effect or (as I have called it elsewhen) Aladdin's Lamp.

Physicist Michio Kaku: `We could unravel the secrets of the universe'
The Guardian/David Shariatmadari, 22 Apr 2023
Quantum computers will transform our world, curing cancer and fixing
the climate crisis, says the scientist and sci-fi fan - but can they be
made to work?
Have you been feeling anxious about technology lately? If so, you're in
good company. The United Nations has urged all governments to implement
a set of rules designed to rein in artificial intelligence. An open
letter, signed by such luminaries as Yuval Noah Harari and Elon Musk,
called for research into the most advanced AI to be paused and measures
taken to ensure it remains "safe ... trustworthy, and loyal". ...
But what if the computers used to develop AI were replaced by ones able
to make calculations not millions, but trillions of times faster? What
if tasks that might take thousands of years to perform on today's
devices could be completed in a matter of seconds? Well, that's
precisely the future that physicist Michio Kaku is predicting. He
believes we are about to leave the digital age behind for a quantum era
that will bring unimaginable scientific and societal change. Computers
will no longer use transistors, but subatomic particles, to make
calculations, unleashing incredible processing power. Another physicist
has likened it to putting "a rocket engine in your car". How are you
feeling now?

Hurricanes are lasting longer, staying stronger over land
Nat Geo, 11 Nov 2020
Hurricanes could be lasting longer after they make landfall, and spreading
their damage farther inland, a new study suggests-a previously undescribed
effect of climate change. The study, published today in the journal Nature,
analyzed hurricanes that have struck North America from 1967 to 2018.

Pentagon's 'UFO' tracking efforts still find no alien origins
The Pentagon released two new videos of incidents.
ABC, April 19, 2023, 4:13 PM
The head of the Pentagon office reviewing UFO incidents reported by military
personnel told Congress Wednesday that his office is now reviewing 650
incidents, but that there is no evidence that any of them is of
extraterrestrial origin.
Two new videos were released at the rare open congressional hearing on
Unexplained Anomalous Phenomena, or UAPs as the Pentagon calls them, to
highlight how the recently established All-domain Anomaly Resolution
Office (AARO) can explain some incidents but not others.
"I want to underscore today that only a very small percentage of UAP reports
display signatures that could reasonably be described as 'anomalous,'" Sean
Kirkpatrick, the director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, told
the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities..
"The majority of unidentified objects reported to AARO demonstrate mundane
characteristics of balloons, unmanned aerial systems, clutter, natural
phenomena, or other readily explainable sources," he added.
The first video, in color, posted on the Pentagon's website, was of an
incident it said took place in the Middle East on July 12, 2022.
The other video showed two views of an incident the Pentagon said occurred
over South Asia on Jan. 15, 2023.
[Kirkpatrick says the only evidence for the existence of non-mundane
origin for any UFO's his dept will accept must be absolutely
conclusive. And that's extremely unlikely given the nature of all the
evidence that has been captured in the past 70 years].
