In the context the present situation, where pro-Palestinians are organising a large protest march in London on Remembrance Day, I think the fears expressed in the press release are perfectly reasonable. There would have been every possibility of at best disruptive protests by the Socialist Left who are instinctively pro-Palestinian and at worst some Arab or Pakistani jihadi sticking a bomb in the place.

I am not saying that a danger of an extremist is not real; all I am saying is that this was not the reason the show was cancelled, otherwise they would have said so.

Curiously, at the same time Cambridge cancels a Handel opera performance because
of a tenuous perceived connection with the war in Gaza, the "university" seems to sit

Haendel was a Baroque composer, Amalek was
a Biblical "person", and the Amalekites were a
Biblical "nation". None of them are connected
to present people or events. There isn't even
enough evidence to prove the Amalekites
were a real nation. You also conveniently
left out the "fact" that the Amalekites had
apparently done some bad things to bring
God's wrath upon them.

The holy scriptures of many religions call for
the destruction of other religions and other
people to various degrees. To single out this
particular one is irrefutable proof of cultural,
social and religious anti-semitism. if you are
so enamored of religious allegories, why not
take a quick look at the Qur'an to see what it
says about Jews? You are a dyed in the wool
