Wow! The USB superdrive is still in the catalog! I thought that was dropped
long ago.

For the price, you're better off buying a third party Blu-Ray reader/writer,
which also does CD-rom and DVD

I'm really talking about the premise of being able to buy BIS CDs. I think
that part of their business will be shut down.

Just going on Apple's past behavior and (lack of) ownership of music content.
If you have a CD, you own it, if you just stream it, you don't.

Macal died on Oct 25th:
https://www.jsonline.com/story/entertainment/arts/2023/10/30/zdenek-macal-obituary-milwaukee-symphony-orchestra/71378917007/

I'm somewhat familiar with his work since he conducted the New Jersey
Symphony from 1993 to 2002. He had an interesting Ma Vlast on Telarc,
and Mahler symphonies on Exon. I felt he had a talent for obtaining
interesting phrasing and balances - but was generally somewhat lacking
in intensity...

Any fans here?

I have nothing to add, but I like this passage and will think about it next=
