Most small one-man businesses I come across today seem to operate almost
entirely on a mobile plus facebook.

Today we (finally![1]) had our chimney swept. Wofe was given a
hand-written 'invoice', torn out of a ruled notebook.

The old school is not entirely dead.

[1] Wofe has been trying to arrange this since before Covid.

Ah, but does your chimney sweep offer apprenticeships? There's one local to me that has a sign on the back of his van fairly similar to this one - but without the DvD guff.

Wofe says that he used to employ, and train, a series of 'lads' but
post-Covid, they all quit and then set up their own businesses in
competition.
