Hachiya Persimmons have to sit a while. Sooo delicious, but they fall
when they're hard and purple. If you don't wait til it's almost rotten,
the softer the better, well, you only make that mistake once.

So true. But then - Sprouts here sell better fruit and veggies and
cheaper, but you have to eat them soon, because they are so much riper

A bonus of being in the tropics is the plethora of different fruits. Many
different varieties of banana, jack fruit, dragon fruit, cempedak + many more.

Unfortunately I'm largely in the hands of my carers (oo-er!) and I have
to think to tell them every bloody detail - like <Rev Iain Paisley>
*NEVER* </Rev> put tomatoes anywhere cooler than 6°C.

I use the banana trick for many things but I never imagined that it
would work with rock-hard alligator pears.
