Black, open face Stadium from Hartwells in Bath, opposite the police
station; a Yamaha dealer (one of about six bike shops[1]). Closely
followed by a red full face Stadium. Both certainly under a tenner
but I honestly don't remember how much since my financial records
only go back to 1990...

[1] I think Bishops of Bath (the Honda agent) was the last to go
in around 2019.

I find they fit differently, and Shoeis are looser (I have a freakishly small head for a supposed adult), but I wear both with no problems.

Arai for racing, Shoei on the road. Not really sure why.

Which means we could think of helmet prices as bring 10% of used bike prices. Which means that the OP is being an old fart!

1967. Everoak Grand Prix. IIRC my father gave me the required cash to
buy it on my returning home with my first bike (having been 'forbidden'
to buy one). The Matchless 250 G2. I had the £25 for the bike and £5
for insurance but nothing for a helmet. He related a tale of he and my
mother coming off his BSA 250 somewhere near Hull in the 1930's.

Hasn't your head been somewhat contoured during racing use?
