Yeah, great innit? I love the fact that some if the numbers, e.g. the
622 and the 700, appear to be the same 'scale' but are simply
referring to nominal trye vs. rim size. Or summat. And of course when
the 29ers came out on MTBs a few years ago that threw yet another
spanner in the works.

it's a shame the G310 maker, TVS from India who bought Norton, don't import

has he got a bigger one now?

Oh, and I have moved to Wales. Things hung around for ages then moved
rapidly in a few days, so never got around to arrange that drink. Soz.

Not yet - he's still got nowhere secure to park it in Birmingham so it's
stayed here with me, but when he's wanting to ride here he's ended up
riding one of mine.

So the little YBR's not getting the use it deserves.

Ah well, these things happen.

We did a day trip to Aberystwyth for an ice cream last weekend - we
could have called in.

I went to Wales a couple of weeks ago for the Official Monster Raving
Loony Party conference (aka pi$$up) at Llanwrtyd Wells. Quite a few
bikes about on those nice twisty roads. I wondered at the time if there
were any UKRMers in the vicinity?

Ironically the first place I went through that had a 20 mph limit was
Pembridge in England! The only others I saw were in Builth Wells and
Llanwrtyd itself. Everywhere else en route seemed to have got around
the problem of the new limit (upgrading?) by being 40 mph :-/

Welshpool, where two of my siblings have lived for decades.

On the hill overlooking the town & River Severn to Long Mountain

view from my bedroom

https://1drv.ms/i/s!AvGiADP7dAX69Q6pvgWeCS1sqAP-?e=XRqdD1

the mist is over the Severn

Surrounded by great roads with the Berwyns, Snowdonia, Cambrian Mountains,
Shropshire Hills, Radnor Hills and Brecon Beacons all nearby.

Indeed. The local VMCC often stray not far away from there, particularly
if doing the Long Mynd. Though I suspect you had a different sort of
road than the Burway in mind as 'great'. The cafe at The Bog up near the
Stiperstones is a regular stop.

I did the Burway some time ago on a TDM850. Ended up riding through a
ditch on the steep bit as the minibus driver coming down ignored a
passing place and refused to reverse.

I took the satnav's shortest route from Pontesbury home on the weekend.
It took me over Long Mountain and down Welsh Harp Hollow. That was a bit
of an adventure in the car.

some trees block the view from the terrace at the rear.

No, but usually one run of the year goes up there. Last time it was on
the way from lunch at the Royal Hill Edgerley back to Bridgnorth via The
Bog for afternoon tea.

Big up the A483 posse. Last time I turned left off the Newtown bypass I had to stop and warn the mrs she might be about to get queasy.

last time I went down there a couple of months ago with Scraggy, we caught
up with a Danish tourist in a car that did not seem to understand the
concept of corners. On the very twisty bit just after the Dolfor turning.

It was quite funny, as well as frustrating as we could not get by it for a
few miles.

From the direction I approach, that is the left turn off the bypass.

Coing back from a short stayaway on monday I saw a van parked in a field
entrance on a double-bend whose driver also didn't seem to understand
corners - driver-side door ripped off, nicely adjusted and
decorated-with-foliage driver-side elevation, back doors tied together
'cos back elevation had become rhomboid, all festooned with'Police
Aware' streamers.

The road was one-track, bordered with ditches, hedges, narrow strips of
bank, and it snaked. Not even a drag-artist (not Lily Savage AKA Paul
O'Grady) could have reached more than 20mph before braking, anywhere
near there...

But I was luckier on the delaying detail.

Butbutbut - Welshpool is miles from the Severn!
<checks map>
Oh
The Severn is really quite a long river, isn't it :-)
