Glad it worked out. Mine is mostly down to a form filling oversight which
I’ve corrected and resubmitted. HMRC ought to accept this but who knows how
long that will take. The end of January deadline is getting rather close!

Good news! I logged into my HMRC a/c this afternoon and it seems they no longer
think I'm a tax dodger. In fact I'm now owed the mighty sum of 80p. Unfortunately
not enough to help me get a Studio :( I won't spend it though until I get the
official confirmation letter from them. Merry Christmas HMRC :)

If you still have a problem, try restarting your Mac in Safe Boot mode
and then start over.
