Yes, some homes do allow animals to go with their owner but not take on
another when it dies. I remember a real life story ages ago about taking
in a working guide dog years ago. Don’t know what the case is now when
blind people go in who are still active and work their dogs to the minimum
standards required to have one.

Oh thank you Matron, I have arranged for Dad’s pet to be delivered very
shortly - it is good of you to allow him to have Jumbo join him in his
final years - oh, here comes the elephant transporter now….

Yes, Alistair said that she'd been allowed in there. We haven't heard
though, either what Hilda thinks of The Laurels, or what The Laurels
thinks of Hilda.

My guess would be Robert. I've been hoping that he'd be allowed to die
peacefully, while watching the birds at Arkwright Lake. Either Jim or
Kirsty could find him sitting in the hide there.

Can I pray that Adil is given the bum's rush. The character has changed
from one person to another in a relatively short time. They could
replace him with someone competent as there is obviously a head office
with huge resources behind him. I wonder what happened when they
cancelled all the Christmas bookings.

Not just homes - I think such policies aren't uncommon. Here, we're
allowed (IIRR - I don't have either) 1 cat and/or 1 dog (I can't
remember whether it's "and" or "or"), but can have more (not sure if any
limit) on your arrival, with the similar arrangement that they can't be
replaced.

assistance dogs.

My aunt took an aged Siamese cat into a Sunrise Home, must be a decade ago

Given Ian Pepperell's recent demise, it doesn't seem likely that Roy
will be taking over GG (at least, not without a voice transplant). More
likely that he'll fall out with Adil and get a new job elsewhere. Maybe
managing a country house hotel and/or a conference centre somewhere
nearer Brum, where he can see more of his family.
