I was rather taken by the whole coronation service and come to a
slightly different conclusion.

Before I start remembering what I watched on TV from my laptop during
the Coronation, for the benefit of any TV Licencing monitors scanning
umra, please remember that there was a free pass from TVL for viewing
on-air television for that weekend. (And EE were giving free data to
their customers - woo-hoo!)

The antics in the cathedral were not of the order of "okay chaps, so
I'm leader of this Church so now jolly well get on with it and crown
me." Rather more dramatically than at a regular CofE communion
service, Charles had to humble himself before the representatives of
the Church, make his confession and be absolved of his sin before
proceeding through the next stages of the coronation.

If confession and absolution mean anything, they mean what has been
done/left undone beforehand has now been forgiven. Historically he's
been a naughty boy but that is now all in the past and spiritually
that is now all over. Clean slate and all that.

So, although I'm not terribly observant and not at all regular, I
consider myself as a practicing CofE-ish Christian and I'm okay about
Charles becoming (our) head.

Even better, play their theme as background music every time they
spoke. It needn't mean bringing the London Chamber Orchestra into the
BBC studio every time they were recording TA (the LCO being the only
ones I can imagine right now being grateful for BBC rates of pay) they
could have Eddie playing his theme on his guitar as he spoke, Henry
practicing the trumpet upstairs as Helen spoke or a car going past
outside with a very loud stereo blasting Brian's theme through an open
window as he spoke: that sort of thing.

minimum.

I'm sure Keri Davies would be up to it: I think he's done similar
before, inserting lines - or song titles - from some pop group/album, or
something like that.

The best at it that I can remember were the scriptwriters for "Brass".
There was an episode of that where they contrived to get the line
"Sergeant Pepper's Lonely-Hearts-Club Band" into the script in a way
that seemed quite logical to the plot! (And "Strange how potent cheap
music is" in a way different to how Mr. Coward used that line.) A really
quality series, that. (Not to mention Red Agnes ...)
