A folding prop of some sort? The ratchety bit at the hinge looks to be
designed to hold the hinge when the thing is unfolded at an adjustable
angle. I assume the pointed end would be braced against the floor (or
other unmoving surface) and the “comb” would be pressing against something
that you want held in place, perhaps whilst you secure it. A bit like
ceiling plasterboard props maybe? A say “like” as it looks too short for
ceiling work.

The imgur web site is a free < ad-driven > service
for sharing images or videos ..
I use it because it doesn't demand registration or passwords
nor does it produce any spam to me or to the viewer.
If you can recommend a better web service - I'm all ears.

- perhaps it has some pop-up adverts that your browser security
settings are rejecting < ? > dunno ..

cookie-blocking.

Incidentally, I've noticed that if I tell the Daily Mash I don't want
cookies, it records the fact by setting a cookie ...

Dunno, really, sorry. I have my own little 'vanity' website, so if I
have stuff I want to pass on I just stick it in /tmp there. People have
sent me stuff via dropbox, which works, but ISTR there's faff about
passwords.

jbex better for anyshedi who can't get on with Imgur.

Yep - flickr is probably the most used.

Photos and videos can be accessed from Flickr without the need to
register an account, but an account must be made to upload content to
the site.
