To speed up WIN10 try writing DISK in bottom left search bar
Will show Disk Clean Op
At top
run as administrator
Then click, it's often slow in showing dialogue box, just wait and
click OK when required.

8 Gb.

just the usual stuff.. email, social media, youtube, web surfing, Open
Office, etc., nothing special. Boot time into win7 reduced significantly
with the SSD.

But presumably you close those when not using them.

What is the detail of the Win10 system ?

That's not surprising, but why don't you get that with the Win10 system
too ?

I guess you did the Win7 installation much longer ago, so it's had
longer to bog down the way Windows always seems to after many years
of updates, accumulated registry junk from installed software, and
background processes. Since the Win10 PCs haven't got that bogged
down yet, there's less room for improvement via the SSD.

Also of course it depends on the particular SSDs and computer
hardware (particularly whether you usually have free RAM left).

I do get that. It's just that there's more noticeable improvement in the
boot time and functionality of the win7 PC

Pays to have USB drives turned off (if possible, my multiple ports
have on off buttons, get one with Au plug DC power supply)

Mines 10 USB ports each with on/off button no sold out
Temu page postage included in price. but make sure for electric DC.
you use a Au IP not VPN, or confuses the Chinese BOT which overrides
you postal address? Hate using travel adaptors.
https://t.ly/c-t7D
This is only 7 port but DC powered, look or wait for a 10 port is my
preference.

Those sorts of devices may be available locally from places like Umart.

Ebay doesnt show purchases old enough
to show the one I bought half a dozen of.

There are some on Temu if you search on power
strip or power board. Not as good as mine tho.

Normal plug board that you plug power cables
or wall warts into, but which take all of Oz, US
and UK plugs. The temu ones only take Oz and US.

> I'm sure it's a good idea though.

Yeah very handy and mine actually grip the plug
much better than mine that only take Oz plugs.

I use what I listed for charging and hardly ever
use it for data access except for backup of the
phone and even then use wifi.

With the exception of emergency aid for disasters such as floods and earthquakes,
most foreign aid is best described as taking money from poor people in rich countries
and giving it to rich people in poor countries.
Corruption is endemic.
