Do you know roughly how long it took to do from start to finish?

It did - just a bit of a green cast developing on a couple, but amazing really.

They were actually, but they were called "Post Office Men" then. "Have you a
licence for your set? You have not got one I bet, that is why I've had to get,
a statutory right of entry to your home."

However long it took to perform the song seven times. I don't recall
exactly but probably less than an hour. The main shot was locked off,
as the technology of the day would not have enabled a sequence like
this with a moving camera, so the only thing that had to be
repositioned between takes was Stilgoe homself.
