I haven't had that particular problem, but I agree that Nextdoor has
terrible software. They took all the problems that Facebook had and
made them worse. No point in listing them here.

Had that happen recently with our dog - we let him out into our
backyard recently not knowing that a bear had knocked 2 slats out of
our fence thus creating a gap wide enough for our dog. We were out
looking for him in the front yard by the street when he comes charging
at us like a delighted young puppy (he's 10 years old) so we hustled
him inside and started on making a temporary patch for our fence...

It isn't just plain text either - I play Civilization 6 and am being
driven crazy by Norway whose colors are red background with dark blue
lettering - extremely similar to barbarians (whose units attack
everybody) with the same red background and black lettering -
extremely hard to distinguish unless one hovers your mouse over it.
Norwegian units only attack if you're at war with them while
barbarians attack eveybody....sigh
