Ian Anderson had a major problem years ago with his voice (no - not ever
since started singing). It's not as bad as it was then some say. Then
there's a lot more to JT than singing.

Of all that era, I reckon Jeff Lynne has probably kept his voice the best.

I'm in the French bit. But yeah, we do get occasional traditional
music events, alphorns, brass & concertina to dance to, that sirta
thing.

I avoid them like the plague, although TBF the alphorns aren't bad,
but then you can hear them miles away, unsurprisingly.

Dre is a producer. They don't tend to tour much. Snoop, otoh, has been on tour this year, for whatever that matters, and debuted 31 years ago.

Look. If you don't like rap, that's fine. You don't have to like anything. But I think after 45 years and we're at the point where you really can't dismiss it as a fad. I just had quick look and rap acts were at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for 36 weeks in 2020*. I'd call that pretty dominant.

Any and all of which I'd rather sit through than five minutes of Jethro fucking Tull.

Over the weekend I went to our Adams Ave Street Scene, a music festival
that's been going for 41 years. 75 acts on 7 stages, but AFAIK, no rap
or hiphop acts.

The problem with rap is there's no tune. And hardly any rhythm. Poetry
jams I can see. (Unfortunately, a field with little publicity.) I think
rap would be far better as poetry than music.
