Maybe you had a subconscious feel that it was an abbreviation/acronym.
(Some people argue that way over "photo's".)

Or, you were putting it in quotes because it's a proper/trade name, and

Eton mess. (Or the Title Case, but I've given up on being mad about that
for my own sanity.)

No real objection (1) to veganism if that's what people choose, but I
object very strongly to "vegan cream" and "vegan bacon" etc.

(1) A lot of people, I believe, espouse vegetarianism or veganism
because of "cruelty to animals" issues. My thought is that if one
really believes one's choice is the correct one, it should be considered
correct for everyone and NOW. So what happens to all the pigs, cows,
sheep etc. if everyone wakes up to-morrow and says "from now on I am
vegetarian/vegan"?

This week the 13:45 Monday to Friday slot on Radio 4 (before TA so
therefore on topic, I presume) is all about the Culture Wars in the
Countryside. I can't look up the programme details right now because
I'm off line while typing this but I'm fairly sure that if it doesn't
interest you it will enrage you. After all, what's the point of
culture wars if they don't make people angry?

I caught a few minutes of the Food and Farming awards at about 3.30
today and some projects sounded useful. Maybe Adam could do more.

A late friend of ours was terribly happy when a fox moved into her (very
large) garden. She would make a point of leaving food out for it/them.
She did this more as a statement of her cultural and political views
than any real fondness for that particular species.

She did live to see fox hunting banned, but only just.

Don't forget that, nowadays, Adam is merely a farmhand at Bridge Farm,
so he only has limited scope for introducing new schemes.

I like foxes, even though I lost hens to them twice when I lived in
Barnet, and we had a young one round here evenings a few years ago. I
almost never saw hum, but B did more often.

The "trailcam" we have set up to watch the hedgehogs in the garden, also
shows other visitors.
The young fox who visits almost every night tends to get chased by
cat(s) from one of the houses over the road.
One cat definitely chases it, whilst we once saw the fox trot (a tad
nervously) from stage left to stage right - with another cat stalking
after it a couple of seconds later.

Fox, cats and hedgehogs all _seem_ to get on fairly well.

I had 4 hens and we shut them in their little run/house at night. The
fox got them and the next 4 I got too.

The grass would not get nibbled down, much of the countryside would look
wrong. Who would mow Wales?

I wonder if there are useful vegetables which would grow on the high hills
to keep people fed. Maybe we'd have pollytunnels everywere instead.
