“Speeding” in this context means ‘travelling too fast for the conditions’.

The real question , which you have failed to ask, “Why did the scarpering
cyclist feel the need to cycle between two people who were walking
together, when they had the priority?”.

Presumably the police will be checking CCTV in the bus station and on any
busses that were there.

Swindon Police:

A Swindon man has been banned from driving for three years after he failed to provide a blood sample when stopped by police. Tyler Hyde, 25, of Redruth Close, Park North, Swindon, was stopped whilst driving a Vauxhall Astra along Kingshill Road into Old Town on July 28 this year. Due to concerns about his manner of driving, a roadside drug wipe was conducted and Hyde was taken to custody where he failed to provide a specimen of blood, offering no medical reason. He was later charged and appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court today (16/8).

As well as a three year driving disqualification, Hyde was ordered to pay a £400 fine, £85 costs and £160 victim surcharge.
PC Luke Hobbs, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “Hyde’s manner of driving caused concern for officers who stopped his vehicle but his failure to provide a specimen has resulted in a three year driving disqualification.

“Road safety is always a priority but this month the force is further promoting the importance of the consequences of the fatal five offences following a rise in serious injury and fatal collisions.”

We are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a car in Swindon last night.
The collision took place at around 10.15pm on Marlborough Road at the junction with Windsor Road.

Sadly, a man in his 60s, who was riding the motorbike, died as a result of his injuries.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

Any witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 284 of August 2nd.

Presumably, the first question will be "Were you driving", to which the
educated response is "No comment".

Well, you’ve been banging on about driving standards for, well, forever it
would seem, but not, of course, about cycling standards.
