PROPER CRIMES IN SWINDON.

A third teenager has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Swindon earlier this week.

A 13-year-old boy suffered knife wounds, and a 16-year-old suffered injuries to his face after being assaulted on the cycle path between Westmead Industrial Estate and Shaw Forest Park on Monday evening (24/07) just before 6pm.

Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of ABH and GBH with intent, and a third has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent. They have all been released on bail pending further enquiries.

On July 19, officers from the new team located and arrested Billy Butler, 26, of Main Street, Cambridgeshire on suspicion of multiple offences, for which he has now been charged. These include a burglary committed on July 18, two counts of taking a vehicle without consent, three thefts from vehicles between July 9 and July 19, and the theft of a parcel. Butler has also been charged with multiple counts of driving without insurance.

Butler has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court today (21/07).

Swindon Police:

A man is in custody after he was stopped on the M4 and found to be in possession of thousands of pounds in cash.
Shortly before 12.30am this morning, officers were patrolling on the M4 near junction 14 when they stopped a vehicle and detained the driver to carry out a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and various bags of cash were found inside totalling £10,000.
Due to concerns around how the man had come to be in possession of the money, he was arrested on suspicion of acquire/use/possess criminal property and taken to Gablecross custody for further questioning.
Enquiries remain ongoing.

Does cash count as a drug?

One can see an argument for it. Chav-cyclists in particular could well
be addicted to it, such that they hate the very thought of parting with
any for any purpose.

This is manifested in their expecting free drinks at country pubs
because of a law that says that customers (customers!) have to be given
free tap water on demand.

Or in their well-documented objections to the lack of free flights for
chav-cyclists (and their chav-bikes) on the Cloud Cable service (as a
means of crossing the Thames).

Or, indeed, in their simple mean-mindedness when it comes to paying
their way in any situation.

The road between the beach and the campsite has a 30mph speed limit. Witnesses claim three passengers of the car ran off after the crash, leaving the driver trapped inside.

Camp site owner Mike Harris, who has given CCTV of the crash to police, said: "The car literally came onto the campsite, rolled over the tent and landed on top of a family who were enjoying themselves. It was the same family who had a baby in the tent at the time. So the immediate concern for everybody was what happened to the baby?

"When they went into the tent, the cot was there and it had managed to protect the baby which is a miracle.
