To answer that question, I had to review the process of using slrn.
Yeesh, what a nightmare. And I thought I was dumbfounded by Wine as
offered by the package managers never working, at least that had clear
instructions on installation from the command line, slrn is just
arcane as hell, makes using a Winblows GUI NNTP app under Wine seem
easy.

Except when they do. Apparently the consent of ONE parent suffices, even
when the other vehemently opposes it. And there is definitely a push to allow
kids (as young as 10) to "make their own decisions" on allowing doctors to

I like slrn. And mutt. Both are amazingly configurable, and fast to use once
set up. I set them up to use vi-like keys.

As a side benefit I can use them in a terminal window, with tmux, and over SSH
if I need to.

Learning slrn is not difficult. Instead of "reviewing the process" Joel
should have just installed slrn and worked with it. That's the way you
really learn, by doing, not "reviewing."

I use Jstar in slrn, because I've used WordStar keystrokes for close to 50
years.

I did install it, but to configure it was a bunch of arcane crap like
I'm running it on a shell account, reminding me of why they invented

You can use the GUI at first as a crutch. I did. But eventually you want to
search for something faster.

If you mean I'm using Agent under Wine because the GUI is a crutch, I
don't know what that would suggest - if you mean something with using
slrn, I would certainly use a GUI terminal, and a Web browser to learn
the arcane junk to make it work, as I did compiling an IRC proxy on a
shell account, it's not like slrn is beyond my abilities, I just find
it ridiculous when I already have the best GUI product there is, and I
don't even need its commercial OS to run it.

I'm circumcised. I like it, personally, and appreciate my parents for
doing it, honestly. If I were a dad to a boy, though, I am not so
sure I could order it done. If his mom wanted it, I would have to at
least have "the talk" to see if we could reach consensus on it. I
mean, how the fuck do we have that right? To do to a newborn? WTF?

Don't get me wrong I have no love of Trump but he does seem to be
lambasted with critiques but none of them ever stick, are the Dems in
danger of being seen as anti-Trump (and accusing him of EVERYTHING) but
with no real proofs other than he was a (none too popular ) Republican
leader.

It is based on the testimony of the same person who pointed to Bill
Clinton as being involved. In the dialogue, it seems that Epstein and
Trump were a lot closer than the former president suggests. However,
everything is unproven at this point. I simply don't believe in Trump's
virtue because this is the same man who _proudly_ pushed poisonous
"vaccines" on the public, locked down a whole country and offered
premiums to states which would do so all the while claiming that someone
else was forcing him.

Looking back, this was a recurring theme with him:

10 problem appears
20 Trump states that the problem needs to be dealt with and insults
someone for not doing anything
30 people suggest a solution
40 Trump states that he wanted to do it but someone prevented him
50 GOTO 10.

It's becoming fairly clear to me that there are very few politicians in
the United States who actually care about the country and its people. It
doesn't matter if they are Democrat or Republican, they're all
worthless. Whether they want it or not, there will eventually be a
populist revolution because the traditional political parties have
demonstrated their uselessness.

Ah right, so you "don't believe", that's me convinced.

Unproven, and yet you come on here and spout that the vaccines were
poisonous.
Aside :-
Do you feel this applies just to the Covid vaccine or all vaccines.

There were a lot of politicians that forced lock-downs and mask
mandates I think they should ALL be judged for that.

I'm saying that the allegations have been made but much like with
Clinton, no concrete proof has been offered. I'm not looking to convince
you anyway. Believe what you want.

I was referring specifically to the ones deployed as of 2021 and
strongly promoted by the governments of the world. Nevertheless,
considering the statistics of children dying or being damaged as a
result of vaccines they didn't really need, my position is that you
should stay away from them in general unless they are _proven_ to be
safe and effective through independent studies. My best friend in my
previous school board was damaged by the "vaccine" and had to have
surgery to remove her uterus, as has my sister-in-law. Apparently,
another one of our co-worker friends also has constant vaginal bleeding
following the deployment of those "vaccines" and has had to take some
time off for the surgery. That is enough for me to ignore pharmaceutical
companies as much as I can and seek out traditional, natural medicine
whenever I can.

Oh, trust me. I would widen it to the entire world. I'm getting to a
point where I believe that most nations would be better off becoming
loose alliances where states (or kingdoms) can easily secede from a
larger union whenever the federal government of that union makes
unethical or idiotic decisions. The United States has moved toward
making the president somewhat of a dictator as has Canada with its prime
minister and I believe that states should be free to tell him to fuck
off and make a small country out of their state right after they do
that. The way our prime minister in Canada treats Alberta and Quebec
makes it clear that the provinces would be better off outside of the
union as would Texas.

Don't agree. Trump's sexual issues were in the past tense. Clinton's were
during his time in office, with fellow government employee. Clinton was also
accused of rape (at least once) and who knows what crap he was involved in
at Epstein's island. I'm guessing he didn't go there for a suntan.

Bill definitely would fuck anything over 18 that moves, I give you,
but Trump is every bit as weird sexually, having publicly talked about
an attraction to his own daughter, he's just a monster of a guy.

A mere few weeks ago, I would have agreed with you. I guess I'm slightly
biased because I enjoy listening to David Knight and he's very much
anti-Trump. On his show, he ran down the evidence against Trump and
determined that the guy was no more innocent than Bill Clinton was. He
made his conclusion based on what was said by Epstein's former victim in
her interview which is little more than a suggestion that Epstein and
Trump regularly hung out.

When I was young and Reagan was running for president, some of the people I
knew wouldn't vote for him because he had divorced and remarried. What Trump
(and Clinton) did would have have immediately disqualified them in most
people's minds at the time. It probably would have hurt Clinton's run for
president also, if people had known about it. By the time Trump came along
everyone was so jaded that it no longer mattered.
