As far as I'm aware it's my own. But Emacs's reputation is such that
there's no telling. Some Emacs acronym jokes that are not mine:

Eight Megabytes And Constantly Swapping
Eventually Mangles All Computer Storage
Escape Meta Alt Control Shift

and the inevitably recursive

Emacs Makes All Computers Slow

All of which remind me of the (already old) NCR machine on which I cut
my commercial teeth at a time when NCR were making a big thing of how
NCR used to stand for National Cash Registers but now didn't stand for
anything.

Never Correct Results
Not Completely Reliable
Never Cease Repairing
Nasty Computer Retailer

Interesting. As a corollary, I wonder why Labour-voting London was
allowed to sprawl ever-wider and gobble up even more outer boroughs?

My XP computer is a little far away to reach right now but it's
downstairs in the cellar marked Pantry/Darkroom and is still in charge
of my rather nice but no longer supported photo negative scanner.
There's a sneakernet connection between it and any other computer in
the house.

Shouldn't that be a slippernet connection?
I mean, who actually wears 'sneakers' in the UK?

And they remind me of the three that video engineers had for the three
analogue television colour systems:
NTSC (national* television standards committee):
never twice same colo(u)r (some truth in it: that's why NTSC sets had a
hue control);
SECAM (sequentiel couleur a memoire):
something essentially contrary to the American method (also very true!);
and
PAL (phase, alternate line): peace at last. (It _was_ the best of the
three.)

*of course, "national" had the same possibly unintentional irony as
"world" in "world series", though the other way round.

(A lot of people tend to use "NTSC" to mean 525 lines by 30 or 60, and
"PAL" to mean 625 and 25 or 50; while the former is correct [the
committee did also define that standard], the latter is not [it's
strictly _only_ a colour standard].)

Alcohol is way ahead of cocaine as the world's deadliest drug, hastening around
three million people per year into their graves (cocaine and heroin and crystal
meth account for around half a million annually).

If sneakernet is good enough for Robert Redford, it's good enough for
me.
